About Me
Sera Johanas is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, with a unique blend of training and experience that make her well-equipped to work with mothers, individuals, couples, and families. She has extensive experience in providing therapy for adults, college students, and young adults who are seeking support in coping with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, anger management, and panic disorders.
In her personal life, Sera is a wife and mother of two. She developed a passion for maternal health after transitioning to motherhood and is dedicated to supporting women through this significant life transition.
Sera earned her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University and has post-graduate training in Perinatal Mental Health from the Postpartum Support International. She employs a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solutions-focused, mindfulness-based, and attachment-oriented approach to therapy to address client needs. She understands that life can be unpredictable and overwhelming, and believes that she can empower individuals to learn tools and techniques to help alleviate discomfort and restore peace in their lives.
Sera works collaboratively with her clients to devise attainable goals and has the unique ability to help even the most inert individuals take small steps to achieve their larger goals in life. She creates a warm and empathetic atmosphere that encourages vulnerability and recognizes that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. She adapts her techniques to meet her client's specific needs and goals.
If you're ready to take the first step towards improving your mental health, contact Sera to schedule an appointment. She will work collaboratively with you to devise attainable goals and help you overcome the challenges you're facing.
